Who We Are
The Texas Consumer Finance Association was organized in
1995 as a result of a merger between the Texas Finance Association and the Texas
Finance Institute by a group of lenders who recognized the need for unity in our
industry. Our desire is to promote and support the Texas Credit Code and still
maintain our primary purpose of providing service to the people of Texas. We
strive to reach it by:
Maintaining a strong legislative
committee whose function is to keep up
with all proposed legislation, supporting that which is good
for our industry and opposing that which is bad.
Maintaining a dedicated and
hardworking group of Officers and Board of
of Directors who provide leadership and extend a helping hand
as needed.
Maintaining unity through periodic
newsletters and disseminating
information of interest to members.
Maintaining an annual convention which
is dedicated to informative
educational material delivered by outstanding speakers.
Maintaining a full time Attorney and
Lobbyist in Austin to represent us
before the Consumer Credit Commissioner and Texas
Legislature. Additionally, he
is available for questions and assistance for our membership.
Meeting periodically with the
Commissioner and her staff to discuss issues vital to our business.
Being involved in the political process to help ensure the election of those who recognize the importance of our industry.
We want you as a member!
The Association is invaluable as an instrument to know what other lenders are
doing in the industry and many ideas for the application of compatible
businesses have emerged from our meetings.
There are few things as rewarding as having hundreds of friends in business you
can call when tough questions arise. TCFA is a non profit association and all
dues go directly to benefit our membership and are very reasonable for such
great returns!
